As part of the Favoriten Festival’s international residency program, the zine “Transfeminist Trajectories” was created in 2022. The bilingual zine contains translations of provocative, insightful queer and feminist texts by Romanian and German authors. In the Queer Talk we want to reflect on our experiences with the exchange between German and Southeast-European trans feminisms. Furthermore, we want to get into conversation about which trajectories can arise from anti-capitalist, trans-feminist perspectives, beyond Western and homonormativity. On the occasion of the Queer Talk there will be an extended online release of the zine.
CUTRA is a queer feminist magazine. It is both a printed magazine published annually and a permanent online platform: www.cutra.ro. The first printed issue was published in December 2018, and the fourth issue is planned for October 2022. CUTRA is the result of our collective concern and effort. It is a platform where queer feminist voices find space for self-expression, where previously unscripted thoughts, expectations, and new perspectives come to light. CUTRA is non-binary and anti-feminist, well-documented, intuitive and empathetic, poppy and radical, imperfect and impermanent. It is for all feminist souls who thrive on exploring solidarity, poetry, and intimacy, and who are not afraid of sexual freedom. cutra.ro

Our collaboration brings together transfeminist and queer perspectives from Romania and Germany. We aim to create a collaborative bilingual zine containing translations of provocative, insightfull queer and feminist texts from Romanian and German authors. The purpose of making the zine is to put into dialog transfeminist knowledge production and expression from our own geographical and cultural backgrounds, to contrast the usual one way stream of hegemonic knowledge production with an exchange between German and South-Easter European feminism and to share and exchange peripheric and non-anglocentric queer and feminist thinking in a language that is not English. We chose to focus on texts dealing with anticapitalist feminism, non-white feminist perspectives, deconstruction of masculinity, queerness beyond Western- and homo-normativity, as well as a transfeminist perspective on the environmental collapse.
